Family Conflict Resolution Services Donations and community support required
Family Conflict Resolution Services is a non- profit organization dedicated to assisting families who are experiencing problems as a result of separation and divorce. Many of the families that come to us for help are often emotionally and financially exhausted by the court process. Many have lost their homes, their life savings as a result of legal costs resulting from fighting their cases through the court process. Our organization helps those most in need where resources are available and help from the community is needed to help us to the valuable work we do.
Individuals and businesses in the community can support children and families in the community by donating to our organization. For large donations we can arrange to have a charitable receipt provided through one of our contributing partner organizations.
Supplies and services
Below is a listing of some of the supplies and services that could benefit us.
Paper We need paper to produce the support materials used by those in our organization. If you have quantities of either 8 1/2" x 11" or 11" x 17" paper, either white or coloured, that you would like to donate then please give us a call. We can arrange to pick up if quantities warrant.
Old computers, printers, fax machines or photocopiers If you have old office equipment that is still working and are considering getting rid of it, then please give a call. Used equipment is given out to families in need to help them communicate more effectively or it may be used by some of our own volunteers.
Printing or Photocopying If you are a firm that does printing, copying or binding, or even a business that can do some photocopying on an occasional basis, please give us a call if you would like to help us by doing some printing. We have brochures, handouts and information binders that need to be printed out.
Any products or services If you are a business and have any product or service that you can donate, then please let us know. This can be anything from car service to dry cleaning to lawn care. We can give your donation to someone in need or re-sell your product or service and use the money generated to purchase some of the supplies and services that we need to help families.
Volunteer Services
Below are some of the areas where we need volunteer help.
Family Coordinators Some of our Family Coordinators provide help to those families who cannot afford it by acting as a volunteer Family Coordinator. If you would like to donate some of your time then we will provide the training and support.
Legal or health care professional If you are a professional such as a lawyer or health care professional and would like to donate some of your time to help children and families in need by offering some limited pro bono work then let us know. One of the advantages of donating some of your time through our program is that you will have the backing and support of others in any case that you may decide to accept.
Contact persons We require persons in various geographical areas to act as contact persons for the program. As a contact person people in your area will contact you with their questions and inquiries.
Editors or Graphic Designers If you have good writing skills you may help us by reviewing written materials that are produced or needed by our support workers.
Computer Programming We need persons with programming skills in communication and database software products that could benefit the work we do.
Parenting Plan Reviewers Reviewers are required to review parenting plans as part of our parenting plan review program for the courts. Reviewers will scrutinize parenting plans in detail to ensure that they are child and family friendly. Work is done from home and may consist as little as two to three hours per month. Training is provided for those interested. Open to parents and professionals.
Family Support Persons People are needed to help families who may live close to them in their own community. Family support persons provide advice and support to usually one of the parties in a dispute and help by encourage the party they have been assigned to help to resolve matters.
